Windel Energy unveils its 350MW Mallard Pass Solar Farm

NEWCASTLE, UK, November 4, 2021 – Windel Energy Ltd (the “Company”, or “Windel”), today announced it has unveiled it’s 350MW “Mallard Pass Solar Farm”.

The project is being brought forward by Mallard Pass Solar Farm Limited (“Mallard Pass”), which is part of a 1.4GW portfolio it is developing in the UK with Canadian Solar. The project is situated across 880 hectares of land either side of the East Coast Main Line near Essendine, partly situated in South Kesteven and partly in Rutland. Mallard Pass Solar Farm has the potential to power 92,000 homes, which is enough to power every home in Rutland and South Kesteven combined. The non-statutory phase of community consultation runs from today (4 November) until Thursday 16 December 2021. Recognising the benefits of digital consultation tools and face-to-face engagement, Mallard Pass Solar Farm is running a hybrid consultation, with both Q&A webinars as well as four in-person drop-in sessions. These event dates are as follows:

• Wednesday 24 November 2021
o 10am to 3pm at Stamford Town Hall, St Mary’s Hill, Stamford PE9 2DR
• Thursday 25 November 2021
o 2pm to 8pm at Essendine Village Hall, Bourne Rd, Essendine, Stamford PE9 4LQ
• Wednesday 17 November 2021
o Community Webinar 1 – 10am to 12pm
• Thursday 2 December 2021
o Community Webinar 2 – 6pm to 8pm
